Edmonton LRT stations to be closed for maintenance projects

Several Edmonton LRT stations will be closed over the next couple of weeks due to maintenance projects.

On April 20, from the start of the service day until noon, Capital and Metro Line trains will run every 20 minutes while trackwork is done near Health Sciences/Jubilee Station.

During that time, the Metro Line will not run between NAIT/Blatchford Market and Government Centre.

After trackwork is complete, service will return to regular Saturday schedules until 8 p.m., when it will stop between NAIT/Blatchford Market and MacEwan to accommodate signal testing.

Buses will run every 15 minutes between Churchill and NAIT/Blatchford Market starting at 8 p.m.

NAIT/Blatchford Market Station will be closed on April 27, 28, and May 4, and 5.

On those days, the station will be closed to support safe and efficient demolition work at the former NAIT station.

In addition, no trains will run between NAIT/Blatchford Market and Kingsway/Royal Alex Stations. Buses will run every 15 minutes

After the demolition, the construction process on planned shared-use path, landscaping, and architectural elements will begin.

On Apr. 28, Metro Line trains will run from Kingsway to Health Sciences/Jubilee Station until 6 p.m.

After 6 p.m., service will only run from Kingsway to Churchill as crews will be conducting maintenance work at Corona Station.

During this time, trains will be running single-track through Corona and Bay Enterprise Stations.
