Man fatally struck by vehicle in south Edmonton parking lot after ‘confrontation’

Police have not shared a vehicle description but say they do not believe speed or alcohol are factors in this fatal crash.

Police say a 23-year-old man was killed in a south Edmonton parking lot last week.

The Edmonton Police Service believes the man was inadvertently struck by a vehicle leaving the parking lot near Mill Woods Road and 28 Avenue on Thursday night.

Investigators say prior to being hit, the man had approached a vehicle in the parking lot and “there was a confrontation.”

Officers arrived to find the injured man. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Neither speed nor alcohol are believed to be factors in the death.

Edmonton police are investigating.
