Edmonton police are looking for five persons of interest in a playground fire that happened in July.

EPS says around 8 a.m. on July 12, officers noticed smoke near 122 Avenue and 128 Street, and went to investigate the matter.

When they arrived at the scene, they found a fire at a playground next to St. Pius X Catholic Elementary School.

The fire has been confirmed to have been arson, and the playground was severely damaged.

In connection with their investigation, police are looking for two men and three women who are persons of interest, and have released images and surveillance video of the area at the time.

EPS is asking if anyone has any information regarding the suspects to call 780-423-4567 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
