The Edmonton Oilers have dethroned the Los Angeles Kings in a fourth consecutive first round meeting.

Edmonton knocked the Kings out of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs on Thursday night, securing a 6-4 Game 6 win to secure their spot in Round 2.

Edmonton won the final four games of the series after falling behind 2-0.

After the two sides traded two goals apiece in the opening six minutes Thursday, the Oilers took a lead on Zach Hyman’s second goal of the post-season and didn’t give it up.

Adam Henrique, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Darnell Nurse, Trent Frederic and Connor Brown were the other goal scorers for Edmonton, who clinched the series in front of its home crowd.

Quinton Byfield, Brandt Clarke, Jordan Spence and Drew Doughty found the back of the net for L.A.

The Oilers will move on to face the Vegas Golden Knights, who advanced with a Game 6 win over the Minnesota Wild earlier Thursday.
