The Edmonton Oilers are adding a young defenceman to their mix.

The team signed defenceman Damien Carfagna to a two-year, entry-level contract set to begin in the 2025-26 season, they announced Monday.

The 22-year-old played college hockey at Ohio State the past two years, where he scored nine goals and recorded 34 points. He previously played for the University of New Hampshire.

The Buckeyes were eliminated in the first round of the NCAA championship tournament by Boston University.
