Edmonton police say two people were injured in separate stabbing incidents on Saturday.

Officers were called to the Meadows Community Recreation Centre at 9 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, after reports of a stabbing.

Police say a 34-year-old man was approached by a group of youths at a nearby bus shelter where he was stabbed. The man was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The stabbing appears to be random as the group of youths and the man were not known to one another.

In a separate incident, a woman was stabbed following an altercation at around 1 a.m. at Belvedere LRT Station on Saturday.

Both women were unknown to each other, and the injured woman was treated by EMS for minor injuries.

Both cases are under investigation, say police.
