Pedestrian hit by minivan while crossing street against traffic signal, Edmonton police say

Police say a woman was running across the street against the traffic light when she was struck by a minivan on Monday afternoon.

The 30-year-old is recovering in hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Edmonton Police Service.

Police say it happened around 2:30 p.m. at Princess Elizabeth Avenue and 109 Street. The woman allegedly ran from south to north when she was hit by a Dodge Caravan going west.

The driver of the minivan was a 65-year-old man, police say.

The EPS Major Collision Investigation Section is investigating.
