6 hospitalized after collision between ETS bus, dump truck on Yellowhead Trail

Police say six people are recovering in hospital after a collision between an Edmonton Transit Service bus and a dump truck in the city’s northwest Tuesday morning.

The Edmonton Police Service says the collision happened at 170 Street and Yellowhead Trail around 10:15 a.m.

Police tell CityNews the ETS bus was driving south on 170 Street approaching the Yellowhead Trail overpass when a fully loaded dump truck turned left onto Yellowhead Trail into the bus’ path.

EMS took six people from the bus to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police did not specify if anyone else on the bus or the dump truck driver were injured.

The intersection was closed in the hours after the incident.
