Woman killed in collision with truck on St. Albert Trail

A 65-year-old woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision late Tuesday afternoon in northwest Edmonton, according to police.

The Edmonton Police Service says the crash happened around 4 p.m. at the intersection of Campbell Road and St. Albert Trail.

Police say a semi truck, which was travelling west on a green light, t-boned at Kia Sportage that was turning onto Mark Messier Trail.

The driver of the Sportage was not wearing a seatbelt, police say.

Paramedics treated and transported the woman to hospital. She was pronounced dead on arrival.

The 36-year-old truck driver did not report any physical injuries.

The EPS major collision investigation unit has taken over the investigation.

No charges are pending at this time.

The intersection at St. Albert trail and Campbell Road was reopened to oncoming traffic.
