Cause of death still pending in Edmonton’s 1st suspicious death of 2026

The cause of death of a 51-year-old man found dead in northeast Edmonton on Friday morning is still pending, police say, following an autopsy.
The Edmonton Police Service says the cause of death is pending toxicology, and the manner of death is pending further investigation.
The man’s death at a home on 88 Street and 128 Avenue is considered suspicious – the first one of 2026.
Officers were responded to a welfare call when they found the man’s body around 9:30 a.m.
The autopsy was completed Monday.
