STRATHCONA COUNTY – RCMP east of Edmonton shut down a rural intersection for hours Sunday afternoon for an investigation police are saying little about.
It’s not entirely clear what brought Mounties to the intersection of Township Road 534 and Range Road 225 northeast of Sherwood Park, but they closed the area to investigate some type of incident.
Investigators are remaining tight lipped about what exactly happened here in Strathcona County. Yellow tape has been placed along Township Road 534, with little orange markers on the ground. Yellow tape surrounded the area with police cruiser blocking off access to the intersection for a majority of the afternoon.
There were also orange markers on the ground in the area.
Strathcona RCMP, which has revealed few details about the investigation, says it will provide an update Monday.
