AHS closes Hindu temple kitchen for over a dozen food safety infractions

Alberta Health Services says a Hindu temple kitchen was shut down on August 28 for several breaches of the Public Health Act.

AHS listed over a dozen concerns, which included various things from mouse droppings to improper dishwashing practices.

With the closure, the owner was ordered to immediately close the premises and to undertake several mandates, which include discarding contaminated food products, ensuring staff have proper training, and several other food health-related measures.

The kitchen will remain closed until the listed measures are completed to the satisfaction of an Executive Officer of Alberta Health Services.
