3 fires in 1 hour: Edmonton police investigating string of blazes in Parkdale neighbourhood

Edmonton police are investigating a string of fires reported in central Edmonton Wednesday night.

The three small fires occurred in the Parkdale neighbourhood.

The first reported fire, at 83 Street and 117 Avenue, involved the exterior of an apartment building, The fire was called in at 9:22 p.m. and declared out at 9:55 p.m.

The second was at 82 Street and 116 Avenue involving an outdoor pile of debris. It was called in at 9:33 p.m. and declared out at 9:45 p.m.

Another fire involved a vacant single-family home at 81 Street and 115 Avenue. It was called in at 10:13 p.m. and declared out at 10:56 p.m.

All three fires happened within the hour. No injuries were reported.

Edmonton Fire Rescue Services says a total of 10 crews were called to manage the fires.

Edmonton police confirmed to CityNews they are investigating, and more information is expected by the end of the week.
