Row housing units damaged in afternoon fire in north Edmonton

Some housing units have been damaged following a fire Tuesday afternoon in north Edmonton.

Edmonton Fire Rescue Services received multiple reports around 1:43 p.m., and crews arrived at the scene near 98 Street and 152 Avenue within five minutes.

Smoke could be seen coming from multiple row housing units, and a second-alarm fire was called a short time later.

As of 3:13 p.m., EFRS confirmed to CityNews that crews were still working to bring the fire under control. By 4:16 p.m., EFRS said, “Three separate buildings were ultimately affected. Two of the three buildings have been declared out at this time, and crews are working to ensure the last building is fully extinguished.”
