Construction on Edmonton’s 112 Avenue bridge over Wayne Gretzky Drive bringing temporary lane closures

A heads up for commuters in Edmonton’s NW.

The city says the 112 Avenue Bridge over Wayne Gretzky Drive will have some temporary lane closures to allow for construction.

Bridge traffic will be reduced to one through-lane and one turning lane in each direction, while 112 Avenue will remain open for east-west travel.

There will also be some temporary road closures along Wayne Gretzky Drive during the work, which is expected to take place throughout 2026 and 2027, and pause in the winter.

Once done, the work is expected to extend the bridge’s service life by about 20-years, according to the city.
