Man dies in head-on collision north of Edmonton: RCMP

Alberta RCMP say an 80-year-old man has died following a head-on collision Wednesday evening north of Edmonton.

Mounties say they responded to a two-vehicle collision between an SUV and a commercial truck, just after 5 p.m. on Apr. 1, along Range Road 224 just south of Township Road 572.

The 80-year-old driver of the SUV was declared dead on scene, while the driver of the commercial truck was taken to a hospital in Edmonton with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
