Police arrest man accused of squirting ‘substance’ on woman at West Edmonton Mall

Police have arrested a 28-year-old man after he allegedly squirted an unknown substance resembling semen onto women in multiple incidents in November, including at the West Edmonton Mall.

The Edmonton Police Service says the man was arrested last Wednesday and charged with three counts of sexual assault.

Authorities say it’s in connection with similar incidents across three days in November.

On Nov. 20, 2025, it was reported to police that a woman was riding an escalator at the West Edmonton Mall when a man allegedly approached her from behind and intentionally squirted a substance onto her back and buttocks.

Investigators determined the same suspect followed and approached seven women that day in a similar way without their knowledge.

Police also believe similar alleged incidents occurred Nov. 4 at the HomeSense on Mayfield Common and Nov. 8 at the Costco on Winterburn Road.

Edmonton police believe there could still be additional locations and dates where similar incidents occurred.

“This behaviour is unacceptable,” said Staff Sgt. Christa Laforce with the EPS sexual assault section. “Whether the substance is real or an imitation does not change the seriousness of what occurred. Acts intended to sexually violate, humiliate, or degrade another person will be treated as sexual assault.”

Jensen Jeffery was released with conditions, including not to attend shopping malls of any kind, not be in possession of weapons of any kind, and remain within Alberta unless written permission from the courts is granted.

The allegations against him have not been tested in court.
