EPS looking for information, video footage of recent suspicious fires

Edmonton police are turning to the public in an effort to try and solve a series of suspicious fires that recently occurred in the communities of Belgravia and King Edward Park.
EPS says that several fires are believed to have been intentionally set and are asking nearby residents to check their home security footage for any suspicious activity between the hours of 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. on the dates of the fires, which are as follows:
- Oct. 18 at 80 Avenue and 81 Street
- Oct. 21 at 90 Avenue and 98 Street
- Oct. 26 at 77 Avenue and 116 Street
- Oct. 29 at 74 Avenue and 118A Street
“We recognize the community is concerned about these fires in their neighbourhood, and we want to assure them that this investigation is a top priority for our team,” says Acting Staff Sergeant Heather Morrison, with EPS Investigative Response Team.
“We have increased proactive patrols in the affected communities and are working closely with community partners to help prevent further occurrences.”
