3 injured after Jeep fleeing from police rolls over on Yellowhead Trail: Edmonton police

Edmonton police say three people were taken to hospital following a collision Tuesday afternoon.

The EPS says just before 4:30 p.m., officers were trying to stop a 2015 Jeep Cherokee that was seen speeding on Yellowhead Trail at 50 Street.

Reports indicate the Jeep fled from the officers, and the officers did not pursue.

A short time later, the Jeep hit a curb and a barricade, which caused it to roll down Yellowhead Trail, police say.

Paramedics responded to the scene and took the driver — a 39-year-old woman — to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Two passengers within the Jeep were also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing, and police believe speed and alcohol were factors.
