Suspect charged with 2nd-degree murder in fatal central Edmonton assault

A 42-year-old man has been changed with murder in the death of 59-year-old Robert Gladue in central Edmonton last week.

The Edmonton Police Service says Gladue died in hospital of blunt force trauma on Saturday, a day after he was found at a home on 95 Street and 106 Avenue with life-threatening injuries.

An autopsy determined the manner of death was homicide.

Police were called to the home around 2:15 p.m. for the report of an assault. A suspect, Dustin Chisholm, was located nearby and arrested.

The accused was previously charged with aggravated assault, but the offence was upgraded following Gladue’s death and the autopsy.

Authorities say both men knew each other.
