Edmonton police seize $1M worth of fentanyl, heroin in large drug bust

Edmonton police say they seized more than $1 million worth of illegal drugs and handguns during an investigation last year.

The Edmonton Police Service says an investigation began in June about a large quantity of drugs and firearms at a short-term rental property.

Authorities say more than five kilograms of fentanyl, as well as large quantities of heroin, cocaine, and assorted drug trafficking paraphernalia and supplies were seized during a search.

Additional searches at two separate addresses in December led to the seizure of another $500,000 worth of fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine, and some $70,000 in cash, according to Edmonton police.
