Pierre Poilievre’s message to Edmontonians was clear.
“Who’s ready for change in Canada?” the Conservative leader asked the cheering crowd.
Thousands came out to Poilievre’s rally Monday night at an industrial warehouse in Nisku, south of Edmonton.
“We need an end to the lost Liberal decade, need a change,” Poilievre told his supporters.
Before doors opened, the lineup went around the block, with voters telling CityNews they wanted change in Ottawa.
Poilievre is the second major party leader to come to Alberta during the election campaign after NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh.
Liberal Leader Mark Carney has yet to visit his home province, with three weeks to go until Canadians head to the polls.
Poilievre was introduced by former Prime Minister Stephen Harper, who noted his connection to both Poilievre and Carney.
“The two main people used to work for me. The person I want is no doubt Poilievre,” Harper said.
Poilievre told the crowd Carney was “wrong about everything.”
The Conservative leader was scheduled to hold a media conference in Edmonton Tuesday before making his way back to Ontario.
