19-year-old charged in fiery single-vehicle Edmonton crash

Edmonton police say a 19-year-old, involved in a single-vehicle crash that went up in flames and was later found to have burnt remains, is facing charges.

EPS says on Oct. 3, a white Dodge Dakota hit a cement barricade near 149 Street and Yellowhead Trail, which caused the vehicle to catch fire.

Another driver who witnessed the collision was able to pull the driver of the Dakota out of the vehicle before it was completely engulfed in flames.

The driver was later taken to hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say through an investigation, they learned that there might have been an additional person in the vehicle, and they began to search for a missing 19-year-old.

The missing individual was later found on Oct. 4, when their remains were found severely burned in the vehicle.

On Dec. 30, EPS charged 19-year-old Ethan Stoley with three charges relating to driving causing death.
