Police seek ‘high-level trafficker’ after $2.5M in drugs seized from southwest Edmonton home

By News Staff

Police say an Edmonton man is wanted after nearly $2.5 million in drugs was seized from a southwest Edmonton condo earlier this month.

The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) says cocaine (17.7 kg), MDMA (5.3 kg), methamphetamine (960 grams), ketamine (3.1 kg), psilocybin mushrooms (5 kg), 20,000 oxycodone pills, and 4,705 illicit prescription pills were seized from the Windermere building on Oct. 9.

Police add $41,000 in cash was also seized.

ALERT says its officers searched the address, with the help of Edmonton police, following an investigation that began in June about a “high-level drug trafficker” who was supplying other drug dealers in Edmonton and northern Alberta communities.

Police are now looking for 36-year-old Edmonton man Minh Nguyen, who is wanted on charges of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, and possession of counterfeit money.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call police.
