Oilers’ Evander Kane has sports hernia, hopes to play Game 1 vs. Kings

Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane has a sports hernia, according to Sportsnet’s Mark Spector.
The 32-year-old admitted that while he hopes to play in Game 1 against the Los Angeles Kings, he is not up to full speed.
The news comes after Kane and fellow forward Mattias Janmark were both on the ice for practice on Sunday.
The pair were missing on Saturday, raising questions about their health and availability for the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
On Saturday, head coach Kris Knoblauch said he expected both Kane and Janmark to practise on Sunday. However, he didn’t confirm or rule out either player for the playoffs.
Kane scored the fourth most goals for the Oilers this season, with 24. He was the team’s seventh-leading scorer, with 44 points.
Janmark appeared in 71 games this season scoring four goals and 12 points.
Edmonton’s first-round series against Los Angeles begins on Monday at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+.
