Suspicious death in SW Edmonton

EDMONTON (CITYNEWS) – Edmonton police are on scene in the city’s southwest after an incident outside a community hall.

Officers won’t say exactly what the incident was, but there appeared to be a bullet hole in the side of the community centre. Police say they got a weapons complaint call around 3:30 a.m. Sunday and responded to the centre in the area of 40 Avenue and 117 Street to learn that friends had already taken the victim to the hospital.

The injured 37-year-old man later died in hospital. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.

No word on who the victim was or if police have any suspects.
