In just a couple of months, the hill will come alive with the sound of music in Edmonton, as one of the city’s most beloved festivals announces their 2023 line up.
“There was always that feeling of ‘oh is it going to come back?’ waiting for that other shoe to drop. There was a lot of nervousness, but I think last year was a pretty normal festival,” said Terry Wickham, Folk Fest director.
Wickham says while last year’s festival went off without a hitch — despite COVID concerns — the 2023’s festival line up which features artists like Feist, Ben Harper and the Paper Kites, just to name a few, will have music fans once returning to the hill across from downtown.
“We’re really happy with the logistics and how it works because it’s 2,500 people who only come together once a year. So you never know what’s going to happen, but we’re more confident this year. Let’s put it that way.”
This comes as other festivals in Edmonton announce their line-ups for summer 2023. K-Days bringing in artists like Three Days Grace, Quiet Riot, and big wreck for this July.
Tickets for Folk Fest go on sale June 3rd, the festival starts August 10.
