Edmonton police looking for man who allegedly defrauded over $50k from businesses

Edmonton police say they are looking for a man who is believed to have defrauded several businesses of more than $50,000.

EPS says the incidents happened between June and July 2025, when a man reportedly intercepted cheques from three businesses that were sent via regular mail.

Through an investigation, police believe that the cheques were altered and deposited into a bank account created with fake ID. It is believed that after the cheques were deposited, the man used some of the money, along with another fake ID, to purchase a large ticket item from an additional business.

Police believe that, in total, over $50,000 in cash and goods were defrauded from the businesses.

Investigators have released images of a man believed to be connected to the incidents, and they are hoping that the public will be able to identify him.

If anyone has any information, they are asked to contact EPS at 780-423-4567 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
