111 Avenue closed, traffic slow on Anthony Henday Drive due to wildfire: Edmonton police

Edmonton police say 111 Avenue is closed between 190 Street and Anthony Henday Drive due to a brush fire Thursday.

In addition, the onramp onto 111 Avenue from the Anthony Henday and access to the Anthony Henday, is completely closed.

Due to fire trucks battling the fire, traffic along Anthony Henday Drive is moving slower than usual.

EPS say the Edmonton Fire Rescue Service expects to battle the fire for several hours.

Anyone driving in the area is advised to drive with extreme caution.
