18-year-old man struck by train south of Wetaskiwin

Police say an 18-year-old man is dead after being hit by a train south of the Wetaskiwin city limits early Wednesday morning.

Wetaskiwin RCMP were notified of the collision around 4 a.m.

Mounties say they found the man’s body after conducting an “extensive search of the area” with the help of CPKC police.

The victim has been identified as a man from Maskwacis First Nation.
