4 more cases of Dutch Elm Disease identified in Edmonton

Four new cases of Dutch Elm disease have been identified among trees in Edmonton’s Glengarry and Rossdale neighbourhoods.

The City of Edmonton says two trees in each community have tested positive for the disease. They will be removed to prevent the deadly fungal disease from spreading further.

Any elms growing within 20 metres of the diseased trees will also be removed.

These discoveries bring the total number of cases identified since 2024 to 14.
