Charges pending against man after 23-year-old woman’s homicide in southeast Edmonton

The death of a 23-year-old woman over the weekend, days after she was found with suspicious injuries in a southeast Edmonton home, has been ruled a homicide.

The Edmonton Police Service says charges are pending against a man who was arrested at the home in the Silverberry neighbourhood on Thursday evening.
An autopsy determined the manner of death was homicide. Her cause of death was withheld by police “for investigative purposes.”
Edmonton police say they will share the woman’s name “when the investigation permits.”
Officers were called about an unresponsive woman with suspicious injuries on Thursday evening. She died in hospital three days later.
