Woman charged with 2nd-degree murder in fatal northeast Edmonton stabbing

Police say a man who died following a disturbance in northeast Edmonton was fatally stabbed, and a suspect has been charged with second-degree murder as a result.

The Edmonton Police Service says 32-year-old Michael Joseph Conway was the victim of a homicide on June 10, as determined by an autopsy.

The woman who was arrested at the scene, 36-year-old Alexandra Bachinsky, was charged. Polie say Conway and Bachinsky knew each other.

Officers were responding to an unrelated matter at 118 Avenue and 47 Street when they became aware of a disturbance. “Police subsequently observed a seriously injured man emerging from a residence followed by another individual,” EPS said in a news release.

The man was taken to hospital, where he later died.
