Trailer containing sports wheelchairs stolen from Stony Plain high school: RCMP

Mounties say a trailer loaded with 15 sports wheelchairs was stolen from a high school in the Stony Plain area.

Parkland RCMP say the wheelchairs belong to the Alberta Northern Lights Wheelchair Basketball Society.

In a Facebook post, the charity says the trailer was taken from the parking lot of Memorial Composite High School on Sunday at 6:15 a.m.

RCMP say they were notified on Monday.

Authorities say the trailer is a a white 2018 Wells Cargo utility trailer with a Northern Lights Wheelchair Basketball Society decal on the side.

Anyone with information is asked to call RCMP at 825-220-2000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
