Edmonton police are hoping video footage can shed light on a collision in which a driver allegedly struck a man on a skateboard in Mill Woods on Tuesday afternoon.
The Edmonton Police Service says a 38-year-old skateboarder was going east on the south sidewalk of 23 Avenue, then crossed 91 Street at a marked crosswalk.
Police say a 64-year-old man behind the wheel of a Nissan Rogue was going west on 23 Avenue and tried turning south onto 91 Street when he allegedly struck the skateboarder. The driver of the Rogue remained on scene.
The 38-year-old was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police don’t believe speed or alcohol were factors in the collision.
Investigators are asking witnesses to the collision, which happened around 1:48 p.m., or anyone with dash camera footage to contact them at 780-423-4567.
