Woman, 33, dies after being struck by train in south Edmonton last week

Police say a 33-year-old woman who was hit by a train in south Edmonton last week has died of her injuries.

The pedestrian was struck by the CP Rail train south of 51 Avenue between 99 Street and Gateway Boulevard on June 26 around 5:45 a.m.

She was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and remained there in critical condition.

In an update Thursday, Edmonton police did not reveal when exactly the woman passed away.

The EPS major collision investigations section is continuing to investigate, and no charges have been laid.
