Evacuation order lifted after large brush fire in west Edmonton

Police say the evacuation order for businesses in west Edmonton was lifted Wednesday, a day after a large brush fire sent clouds of smoke into the air.

The Edmonton Police Service says the roads around 111 Avenue between 184 Street and Anthony Henday have since reopened.

Officials say Tuesday’s fire did not threaten nearby structures, though several businesses were evacuated.
