Edmonton police monitor violent offender after release from Remand Centre

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is alerting the public about Brian Yu Wang, a high-risk violent offender recently released from the Edmonton Remand Centre on Tuesday.

Wang is considered a serious threat to public safety due to his violent history and expressed homicidal ideations.

Wang has previously targeted infrastructure within communities he’s lived in and has shown intent to harm others, according to officals.

The EPS’s Hate Crimes Unit, in collaboration with the Behavioural Assessment Unit, has applied for an 810.2 Peace Bond to impose additional monitoring and restrictions on him.

Anyone with information about Wang’s activities is asked to contact the Edmonton Police Service at 780-423-4567.
