Edmonton police investigating fatal pedestrian collision

Edmonton police say they are looking into a fatal collision that happened earlier this week after a pedestrian was hit by a car.

EPS says around 8:10 p.m. on Wednesday, a man in his 50’s was crossing 97 Street just north of 129 Avenue, where crossing is prohibited, when he was struck by a Chevrolet Impala.

The Impala was being driven by a 21-year-old man and was heading south on 97 Street at the time of the collision.

Police and paramedics responded to the scene, and the pedestrian was pronounced dead.

If anyone has any information, they are asked to contact investigators at 780-423-4567.
