12th annual zoominescence arrives in Edmonton

It can’t be the Christmas holidays without lights, and so the Edmonton valley zoo is lighting things up again for its 12th annual zoominescence.

125 displays are across the zoo blinking, flashing, and dazzling visitors including a red panda light show to commemorate the new cubs that arrived earlier this month.

Six local artists had a hand in the displays, designed to celebrate conservation, imagination, and winter spirit.

For many, zoominescence marks the start of the winter and holiday season.

There’s also ice skating and hot chocolate for cold nights.

Zoominescence runs every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until December 8th, then every day until January 1st.
