Later that evening, Mounties confirmed they had found two people, and recovered the body of a 5-year-old girl, who was confirmed dead by EMS and STARS after being pulled from the lake.
RCMP later believed that the boat hadn’t capsized, and they began treating the death as a criminal investigation.
Mounties say on Nov. 13, Mary Quinn from Edmonton was charged with failing to provide the necessaries of life.
She is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 20.
