Firefighters investigate blaze at west Edmonton strip mall

Businesses in a west Edmonton strip mall were impacted after a fire broke out at 89 Avenue and 182 Street Tuesday night.

Edmonton Fire Rescue Services received reports of a commercial structure at 8:24 p.m.

Fire crews arrived at the scene at 8:30 p.m. to find flames coming from a single business. Crews then evacuated all neighbouring businesses.

The blaze was brought under control soon after at 8:49 p.m. and officially declared out at 10:10 p.m.

Fire officials say there were no reported injuries and neighbouring businesses in the strip mall were impacted by smoke and water. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
