Alberta RCMP has charged two people in connection to a home invasion on Sept. 9.

Mounties from Parkland County responded to a report of a break-and-enter and a potential extortion with a firearm at a home.

When officers arrived, they were able to find the homeowner and were able to safely evacuate her from the home.

Mounties confirmed that one of the suspects had to be taken to hospital after being taken into custody because they had been attacked by a large dog in the home.

Since, RCMP have charged 41-year-old Jeante Michael Maddox and 40-year-old Alexander James Kuzniarski, both of Edmonton, with a combined 19 charges, including breaking and entering, and possession of a firearm, to name a few.
