Tickets for Oilers watch parties jump from $5 to $20 for Stanley Cup final

By News Staff

The Edmonton Oilers are the hottest ticket in town – even when the team is out of town.

Watch parties inside Rogers Place for Games 1 and 2 of the Stanley Cup final will cost fans $20 each – four times what tickets were selling for during the first three rounds of the playoffs.

The Oilers Entertainment Group (OEG) says net proceeds from ticket sales benefit the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation.

Replying to a post on the team’s X account, fans shared their displeasure with the 300 per cent price hike.

“Was $5, now $20? Why?” one user wrote. “Do you not make enough money off of $14 Beer? I think I’ll be staying home and have my own party.”

“Best fans in the league and this is how you reward them?” said another.

“Ridiculous, you just took this experience away from a family who can’t afford this now by jacking your price,” added a third.

The Oilers are back in the Stanley Cup final for the fist time since 2006 after defeating the Dallas Stars for the western crown.

Game 1 of the best-of-seven series against the Florida Panthers goes Saturday in Sunrise, Fla. Game 2 is on Monday.
