Edmonton fire crews believe fireworks were the likely cause of several outdoor fires Sunday.
Edmonton Fire Rescue Services responded to 17 outdoor fires.
There was a large grass fire at Ivor Dent Sports Park that was reported shortly after 9 p.m. It was deemed out by 9:51 p.m.
Another fire at Maple Road and 30th Avenue was called in around 10 pm. Three units helped contain the blaze and it was out by 11:15 p.m.
Fireworks debris could be seen on the ground Monday at the scene of some of those fires.

No injuries were reported.
Fire officials haven’t yet confirmed the cause of the fires but believe fireworks are to blame. The weekend saw dry conditions with no snow on the ground.
Officials say they received 54 complaints about fireworks Sunday night, though some were referencing the same events.
EFRS is reminding Edmontonians they must have a fireworks permit to set off fireworks within city limits and have to follow safety regulations. Fireworks must only be used on private residential property – not public property.
