One man in custody in connection to Dec. 18 murder, another two still wanted by Edmonton police

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) says a 30-year-old man has been taken into custody in connection to the Dec. 18, 2022 murder of Ahmed Mohamed, and two other men are still wanted.
Police say, on Dec. 18, officers responded to a weapons complaint near 103 Street and 106 Avenue.
When they arrived, officers found a 23-year-old man suffering from serious, non-life-threatening injuries. The EPS says was taken to hospital.
While conducting a search of the surrounding area, officers were directed to a second location, a nearby convenience store, where they found a 36-year-old man suffering from life-threatening gunshot injuries.
Not long after officers arrived, the man was pronounced dead.

An autopsy conducted on Dec. 20 confirmed that Mr. Mohamed’s death was a result of a gunshot wound and was ruled a homicide.
The EPS says officers conducted a traffic stop on Thursday and took a 30-year-old who was wanted for second-degree murder into custody.
Police say 33-year-old Abdullahi Are and 34-year-old Ahmed Osman are still wanted in connection to the shooting.
