Edmonton police investigating suspicious death near Rogers Place

Edmonton police are investigating a death that occurred Sunday morning near Rogers Place.

EPS say around 4:45 a.m., officers responded to a weapons complaint near 103 Street and 106 Avenue. When they arrived, officers found a 23-year-old man suffering from serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

He was taken to a hospital where he has since been upgraded to stable.

While conducting a search of the surrounding area, officers were directed to a second location, a nearby convenience store, where they found a 36-year-old man suffering from life-threatening gunshot injuries.

Not long after officers arrived, the man was pronounced dead.

Police have not yet said if the two incidents are connected.
