Edmonton police say they have made an arrest and recovered a truck that was stolen from the Al Shamal Shriners earlier this month.
The Edmonton Police Service says it conducted a traffic stop Aug. 22 on a stolen Ford F-250 and arrested the man who was driving it.
Police charged Riley Garrett, 27, with possession of stolen property and other offences.
A break-in at the Al Shamal Shriners – a children’s charity – was reported Aug. 20.
Police learned a suspect entered a fenced compound the day earlier and stole a grey Dodge Ram 3500 truck belonging to the Shriners.
The suspect allegedly returned to the location – driving the stolen Dodge Ram – with a second suspect on Aug. 20.
“Both suspects left the Dodge Ram truck behind, then stole a white Ford F-250 parked in the yard,” Edmonton police said in a news release.
Police are still looking for the second suspect. He is described as five-foot-eight to five-foot-10. He was wearing black shoes with white soles, black track pants, a black wind breaker, a baseball hat and was carrying a black backpack.
