Edmonton police issue public warning over release of convicted sex offender

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is issuing a warning to the public as a convicted sexual offender is being released from jail.

EPS says 53-year-old Dwayne Kequahtooway, who is previously known as Dwayne Holliger, will be living in the Edmonton area following his release.

Kequahtooway has previously been convicted for sexual assault, and EPS believes he may commit another violent offence.

In his previous convictions, he caused physical harm to his victims. EPS note he has victimized a number of females including children, adolescents, and adults in a sexual manner.

He has also gone after single mothers for a relationship to then offend against their daughter(s).

Kequahtooway will be subject to a series of court-ordered conditions. Those conditions are as follows:

He must live at a residence approved by his Supervisor, and is not allowed to change address until he has written approval;
He must follow a 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Curfew;
He is not allowed to travel outside Edmonton, unless he has written approval;
He is not allowed to be in the presence of any child under 16-year-old;
He not allowed within 100 metres of a public park, public swimming area, daycare, school ground, playground, recreational centers, community centers, youth shelters, public libraries, or any other area where persons under the age of 16 are present or can reasonably expected to be present unless he has received written approval from his Supervisor or designate;
He is not allowed to purchase, possess, or consume any alcoholic beverages or drugs.

Kequahtooway has been described as a 53-year-old man, 5’7″, 210 lbs, with hazel eyes, and brown hair.

He is known to go by Dwayne Kequahtooway or Dwayne Holliger.
