Man charged in fatal weekend stabbing in southwest Edmonton: police

Edmonton police have pressed second-degree murder charges against a man related to a victim found dead after a fatal weekend stabbing.

EPS say around 3 a.m. on March 5, officers responded to a report of a man in medical distress at a home near Hanna Crescent and Haddow Drive.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers and paramedics found 34-year-old Nathan Frencheater dead.

The Edmonton Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy and determined the cause of death was “stab wounds with the manner of death being homicide.”

Police have since charged 40-year-old Preston Frencheater.
